HOW UNDERSTANDING OF CROSS-CULTURAL TRADITIONS IMPACTS IDENTITY, WELL-BEING, AND SUCCESS?
How understanding culture and identity can make a difference in our nation one may ask. In a world characterized by increasing integration on economic, political and institutional levels, the notions of sovereignty and independence are becoming somewhat vague and a number of social entities such as ethnic groups which exist within wider societies are perceiving such integration – which is partly due to globalization – as a threat to their culture and identity. How can such social groups protect their culture in this context? The researchers concluded that most studies find that being bicultural, having a combination of having a strong ethnic and national identity, yields the best adaptation in life.
